Venue, Lodging & Transportation
Venue
The 2025 Victoria Tango Marathon will again be held in the stunning Da Vinci Centre, just minutes from Victoria’s scenic downtown. Look forward to dancing in a hall with high ceilings, a glowing chandelier, and spacious but busy dance floor.
The venue is located at 195 Bay St, Victoria, BC V9A 3K4. There is ample parking for guests. We ask that guests be respectful of the neighbour when coming and going from the venue late into the night.
If you are staying downtown, the venue is a fifteen minute walk starting from the Johnson Street Bridge.
Lodging
We recommend finding an Airbnb or other vacation rental in the downtown area, or in “Vic West” which is the area where the venue is. There is a fb group to connect VTM Participants with each other and the local Victoria community regarding travel and accommodation plans. We hope locals can offer space for visiting dancers, and visitors can coordinate large AirBNB rentals or find travel buddies to carpool from wherever you are coming.

Transportation
Uber, Bus, Taxi …even Water Taxi, we have it. Victoria is a very small city so be prepared to walk or bike around.
TO GET HERE: Victoria is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island ; being on an Island means getting here involves a bit of fun and adventure.
BY PLANE:
You can arrive by air at the Victoria International Airport (YYJ) about 30 minutes drive north of the city center. You can catch direct flights from Vancouver, Seattle, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. On occasions, Air Canada offers direct flights from Montreal and San Fransisco but these are mostly seasonal. Taxis and are available to make your way downtown from there.
It is possible to arrive at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) but you will need to plan your journey accordingly. Making your way to Victoria from there involves either a short connector flight or transiting via BC Ferries (see below for more details). The airport is well connected to public transit and some shuttle services exist such as BC Connector that will take you all the way downtown.
If you feel like traveling in style… Harbour Air runs daily float plane flights arriving directly downtown.
BY BOAT:
One way to make it here that we find more fun is by boat as you get to enjoy beautiful views of the gulf islands and perhaps find some other tango travellers for a quick pop up “stranda” on the front deck of the boat!
BC Ferries, you can drive on or walk on from Tsawwassen Terminal south of Vancouver to Schwartz Bay Terminal about 30 minutes drive to the north of Victoria. Keep in mind the ferries only run from 6-7AM to 9 -10PM. If you choose not to bring your car, you will find that both Tsawwassen and Schwartz Bay terminals are well connected to public transit.
For USA Travellers, If you are arriving through Washington State and don’t feel like making your way to Tsawwassen, you have a couple of fun options:
The Clipper ; a direct foot passenger ferry from downtown Seattle to downtown Victoria. (I hear its a party with all the other tango friends on board)
The Coho Blackball Ferry Line, you can drive on or walk on from Port Angeles to downtown Victoria …and this one comes with a great Jingle!!
So make your pick, but in any case, try to be nice to the environment. we have affordable and accessible public transit and the Venue is in walking distance of most things you might need!
